My cosplay

Have a look at my cosplay! Let me know what you think! (Negative comments must be constructive.)

http://images.cosplay.com/showgallery.php?userid=8130

A short run-down on the construction of those costumes

Ragnarok Asassin- Didn't take me all that long to make, Simple-to-make spandex pants and cut up strips of material for the bandages. The arm things I just copied the pattern off some gloves I have. The bra part of the costume was tough to design but it turned out pretty well. The hardest part of this costume was putting it on so that it looked right, all of the bandages had to be wrapped a certain way... and that's about 15-20 feet of bandages.

Dark Mistress- Ok so this outfit is one that I wear for normal clothing >.>. The skirt is full-circle (yes, FULL circle folks) and took me about 4 hours to cut/sew. Nothing too difficult about it, just ALOT of material to sew. The cloak is also full-circle, and took me about 6 hours because the sewing machine doesnt sew past the speed of sound XD. The shirt has bell sleeves (sooorta) and turned out really well. The corset was probably the hardest part of this outfit. It's SOOO much work! >.< And Sadly, It was made a bit too big so I should be making a new one soon. (Sigh.. all that work)

Inuyasha- This was my first serious costume that I made for an anime convention. The pants were altered from a pattern (still dont have the belt quite right >.<). The shirt took the most time to make: I made a kimono top and added that extra flap-thingy to it.. it even has a pocket like inuyasha's! =D The sleeves took some designing, but we got them so they didn't flop at all! =D! The only problem I still have with this costume is that the wig is the wrong colour >.< There are NO wigs in the city I live in that are silver-white.
This costume has been worn to two animethon's and I sent it down to Vic, Australia for Melbourne's anime convention, the Manifest =D

Kagome- This is a costume commisioned by a friend of mine. She wanted a Kagome costume and so she had me make it. (The person in the Kagome costume is my friend, Nanashi.) The top was a v-neck shirt modified to have the sailor thingy on it. The skirt is simply a pleated cheerleader's skirt. She supplied the socks and shoes.

I have made other costumes that arent on that site, need to get the people I made them for together for a photoshoot sometime soon >.<

Lol, Keenan. Any and all costumes I make for other people are paid for by them. ~.~ I do not have the resources to make costumes for people who aren't paying... and this year I'm having a hard enough time finding the time/money/character for ME to cosplay ~.~!

Well then, that is a different story. (Of course I still need to find time... and finish my OWN animethon/bellerose con costume. Any ideas on what female character would fit my body-type and still have most of her body covered?

She's cute o.o... However I'm hoping for a costume with alot of detail *yes yes... demanding alot* I don't mind showing belly, clevage and leg... but just not all at once... I'm actually hoping to contend for best costume...

It's so hard to find a female character who has alot of detail, isn't short, a child, or is discustingly well endowed *small chested* >.<!

when you say alot of detail, how much do you mean?

By detail I mean something that looks complicated to sew/wear. (Hopefully without embroidery...) Anything from Chobits-detail to FFX-2's Pain costume in complexity. I'm an advanced sewer... so this stuff isn't all that hard for me.

(Never worry about picture size on these forums ^_^ I don't care.)

Uhg! That would be perfect for my body-type... However I'm absolutely hopeless when it comes to armor or plastics *dies* >.<!

No duh!  Tsubasa is by CLAMP!  XPPP  But I think that you'd look good as a Sakura from that.

I'm going as Yuuko from xxxHolic...as soon as I get a costume together >.<

I don't know your opinion on Value Village or Thrift Stores, but visit there- they have tons of stuff! It's where I got my clothes for Zelda.

Don't always rely on sewing to get the job done- trust me! It will save lots of time and money to just buy some stuff simply.

I found this great skirt from Winners- it's pleather, and tan, but it looks awesome! Search those stores for a similarily sized/coloured skirt.

It's all about the fun anyway, right?

Of course, if you can't find anything like what you're looking for, sewing is the best opion.

Value Village is usually a good place to help with making a costume. I've been sewing since the age of 6... and I love it.

Fanny's Fabrics on 111th street is closing. So they are currently having a HUGE sale. I was able to get everything I need for the costume I'll be doing (last minuet choice... see the end of this post to veiw the costume)... and more... for about $26. *drool* So anyways~! Here's the costume, I'm off to sew! *Runs*

o.O Whhooooa...Justin spams a lot. Perhaps we could find some way to create a privet chat area for him...that way, it wouldn't be so bloody anoying to scrole through nothing but post after post of non-sence.

Just a sidgestion.

And you make a lot of spelling mistakes XP  But back on topic, now...

Wau!  Awesome idea!  I can't wait to see you at Bellerose con :D  LOVE the hair!  ^^

Kelsie: Some people, as already stated, really enjoy making their own costumes.  Instead of buying it, they want to be as accurate as possible and really have fun sewing.  A lot of costumes can't just be bought and have to be custom made.

Any Ideas?
