I have to admit that I loved the way last year went off. My only complaints would be that the duct-tape to show who is a volunteer was kinda shabby.... (and it didnt come off my costume very well ~.~) Other than that, I thought last year was awesome ^^
I don't know if this happened in any of the other places last year. But in the one anime I went to see (I managed to get a friend to watch the DJing while I watched Ragnarok the Animation (I was a character from there)). But there seemed to be alot of problems getting it started. Perhaps we can plan for this potential problem? Is there anything we can do about it?
I think we were planning on getting a tutorial or something for all the people running anime rooms. I found a lot of technical problems, too. *shrug* Guess we'll just have to keep people informed!
Justin: Well, yeah...that really annoyed me *coughkeenancough* But it's worse when people just run off without telling anyone. Especially if they're doing something uber important like running ticket sales. It's not only annoying, but really stressful because others have to take their place when they could be watching anime or taking a break for lunch. I'd like to enforce the rules of 'NO DITCHING STATIONS' this year.
Yolanda: Hey! I had a legitimate substitute for my station when I went BREIFLY to do the one thing I wanted to do there all day. Too much to ask? I think not. I mean, we don’t really get any compensation out of sacrificing our whole day for the anime-Bellerose con… so why couldn’t I make it enjoyable for myself? Though, this year will be different as long as we have more choice in the stations that we’re assigned. Last year I didn’t even get half of the ones I signed up for, and more of the ones I disliked.

K-chan you have a point. However there are also some people who don't want to go see the cosplay competition (I was one of them last-animethon). If you are serious about that suggestion, post a poll about it. If you want I can do that as well.(Make it seem more 'official')
I think that a 2 hour cosplay may get a bit boreing for those who do not know or like cosplay. If anything, I belive we should have a contest or show or whatever, every few hours but limit the contestants, and have a fanally at the end of the day. Best of the Best. Just my thoughs.
Also, I will be doing the scheduling and will be floor manager for this year. I'm giving everyone the freedom to chose their time when they are avalible, so I don't expect anyone to duck out of their givin job.
Oh, and last year I had an issue with the computers not projecting the movie. Anyone else have that problem?
Well first on all the duck tape was a last effort since we forgot about tags.(vicky and I worked dam hard on this and somethings we forgot about), Secondly, we ask the vollonteers if the shifts we gave them where alright and they agreed. SO its your fault for not saying that you wanted to see the cosplay. But other than that if you had a legit substitute for your station then it doesn't count as ditching. But other than that it was a dam good festival.

Yep. A couple people had the problem. It was pretty easy to fix, but a lot of people didn't know how. EVERYONE (and I mean EVERYONE) operating the viewing rooms should be told how to fix the problems that are likely to occur. Sound fair? ^^
Ohh yah sry it was me fault that i did not teach you guys about the projectors. I was in charge of that tech stuff. But this year ill try to make it a bit more bullet proof.( in other words Yolanda-proof)
I suggest we have a meeting to go over the the technical sometime in sept. And I'm not just talking about the people working the rooms, but everyone just so they know how to and when to in case they need to fill in. Just a suggestion.
A reminder: This topic is to discuss last year's discussion and what can be done better this year. Perhaps another topic could be made to discern the computer wisdom of certain forum members?
