Mentoring!

If any of you are interested, I'm available as a Literate Roleplaying Mentor.  What this means is that I can tutor you to become a Literate Roleplayer.  Literate Roleplaying includes: Full sentences, good grammar, longer posts and better writing skills all around.  I've been roleplaying just over 2 years now and I've always done it literately.  It's a lot of fun, I think.  Here's an example of some of my work.  Note: These aren't connected

Example 1:Ash saw his blade and braced for the impact, shutting her eyes tight. This was it. This was the end. Maybe if she had kept him from continuing the fight with Alex...then her life was worth the sacrifice. Sometimes, she had wanted to die. Being chased by people who didn't feel that she belonged for her magick.

Was any of it worth it? Was it? Did she want to live her life running? Did she really want to keep doing this?

No...

But...she didn't want to die now. Not after she had met these wonderful people. Valenarr, Alex, Zilly...everyone. She didn't want to die now! Not after she had just met these people. She wanted to see them again. To be with them. To fight with them.

CHINK!

Ash'rael found that she had a long rip down her dress from the knee. Then again, it was much better than having a rip the same length down her chest.

"V-valenarr...?" she said quietly, crawling over to where he was kneeling. Gently, she put a hand on his shoulder.

"Are you okay?" she asked, genuine caring in her voice.

Example 2: "Could he be any louder?" she thought sarcastically, rolling her eyes. It wasn't even in a language that she recognized. Well, actually, it'd be languages. It didn't seem to be in one single tongue. Well, either way, it was very, very loud. What was he thinking anyway? She had never heard Hybrid so...aggrivated! Usually he just kept it all to himself, but now... What happened to him?

Her question was answered with the next few statements which were in english and still rather loud. So...she was right. This confirmed her thoughts. There was a way to move backwards through the 'shadow'. To go back to where they used to be. Their original home.

As the talking stopped, she leaned forward in her chair, placing the papers onto the table. Might as well share the information.

"Look here," she said, "Zaniah found these papers on a desk when we were fighting. It says something about moving through the 'Shadow' and 'returning the Shadowkind to their plane of origin.' She tilted her head towards the direction where Hybrid was.

"And what he just said may have confirmed what I'm thinking. There's a way for us to return to where we came from. From our original world." She glanced at them. First at Z'kort, then Arkus, then Zaniah. This was a huge revelation. She wondered what their reactions would be like...

Example 3: Yolanda was knocked back and flew a good few meters before landing rather painfully on her backside. She was far outnumbered. Three people againt at least ten were hardly good odds. Especially since these were trained mages, not just guards.

She got up immediately, brandishing her staff. Desperate times called for desperate measures. Chanting, Yolanda closed her eyes for a moment and made a series of hand signals. In a brief moment, she multipled. 3 clones of herself. It was impossible to tell which one was which. Thankfully, the mage was also capable of fighting with a staff. The clones and the real Yolanda launched themselves at the guards, parrying blows and knocking them back.

One of them disappeared when hit in the head with a near fatal blow. They were only wind clones. But this was starting to tax on her powers. Quickly...they needed to get here fast. She could only hold them off for so long. Hurry, Ravenar! Hurry, Lasha!

Another clone disappeared. Yolanda, the real one, had sustained a few wounds already. None major, but certainly painful.

I could probably use a few lessons. I enjoy writing stories, but whenever I show them to Ash he always says the same thing. "Not enough detail." Maybe I'm just not meant for writing. I dunno.

On a side note, I plan on organizing my little miniseries, adding a few chapters, and posting them..somewhere.. as a full story. If you wanna know anything about them, ask Maria (they were posted on the old forums she had.) Or, ask me. Doesn't matter.

Ooh!  Yes!  Postage of stories is good!  I could critique them if you want, but if not then that's fine, too ^^  Details are good...unless overdone.

Once had to read a HUGE freaking long example post for an entrance into my guild.  The guy got all defensive when we critiqued him too!  Arrrgh!  THE THING MUST'VE BEEN AT LEAST 10 PAGES LONG!  And he was like, "Well length is good and BS BS BS..."  Rawr...

All that venting aside, I could take a look at your work ^^  I love to read stuffs ^^

Well when i wrote them for school, the three parts I finished and turned in added up to probably 15 or so pages, but typed it wasn't all to much..

I'm gonna combine them all into a single story, and add connections and stuff to make it all flow together, but there's no way I'm gonna try to put it on the forums. I'll probably look for a site that hosts them and just link to it.

On topic, how about getting me some info on your..guild thingy. Unless it's an offline thing, in which case it wouldn't matter since I'm in Alabama. Either way, get back to me.

The Guild is a guild on Gaia.  If you haven't been there, the URL is www.gaiaonline.com

The guild is called the LRPA which stands for the Literate Roleplayers Association.  It's a really nice environment (trust me, I own it XP).  Great roleplayers, all literate.  Just a good place to chat without someone coming in and going, "*i sti d0wnz n smle!11!1one1!111!!eleven*"

Yep, no noobs ruining things ^^  Search on the Guilds Database.  Remember to read ALL the rules before applying because I will know if you don't XP.  *laughs*
